Something satisfying about Colts-Saints.  Would have been a great story if they had both been able to remain undefeated heading into Super Bowl.  I think Mercury Morris would have exploded!

The Saints have been fun to watch this season (and hey, my boys have been one of only 3 to defeat them), but I want to see Peyton Manning solidify his legacy as one of the greatest ever, so I shall be pulling for the Colts.

Peyton Manning solidify his "legacy" as a choker.  He's 9-9 in his career in the postseason.

One of the "greatest ever?"  I don't think so.  Drew Brees should have won the NFL MVP.  He had more touchdowns, a better completion percentage, and a higher QB rating.

Yes, because Manning is at fault for the Colts' inability to play some bump and run at the line of scrimmage so that Brees didn't have all the time in the world to pick apart their secondary with short to medium range passes. Also his fault that the head coach insisted on running the clock out at the end of the first half even with all their timeouts left. AND also his fault that the kicker hooks a field goal when the game was still yet to be decided.

Peyton Manning a choker. Don't be asinine, please. Everytime you post in the Sports area, you just make yourself look more and more ridiculous.

I have to say, I have nothing against the Saints winning this Super Bowl (especially since we were one of the very few teams who put a blemish on this otherwise wonderful season for them), but it's pretty funny how many people are Saints fans and newly-minted members of Who Dat Nation today. Not calling you one. You may be one of those, for all I know, but it doesn't really matter. I was just pointing out a general observation.

So what do YOU call 9-9 in the post season?

Something thrown out by ignorant sports fans and commentators who think the QB is the only reason teams win championships.  I guess it's Manning's fault alone that the Colts are 9-9 in the playoffs with him.  Yep, Manning is responsible for the defense's shortcomings.

One of the biggest copouts and unintelligent arguments and it's rampant on sports talk radio and tv and in the post I just quoted.

Ya know, you're right.  Peyton Manning isn't responsible for throwing an interception right into the hands of Tracy Porter.

Of course, he DID have 18 INTs in the regular season.  Drew Brees had 11.

Drew Brees deserved the MVP, not Peyton Manning.
