Ask yourself if you'd be willing to do the same, given the current legal climate surrounding trackers providing copyrighted material. Legal issues may or may not be the reason for the impending shutdown*, but in the meanwhile, starting up a tracker when the constant threat of legal action hangs over your head is a senseless thing to do. This has nothing to do with anyone's personal stance on filesharing/p2p downloading/etc. It's just a fact, given the current laws.


* I don't really care to know what the reasons are anyway, since I'm not that nosy, but if I had to guess, I'd say that's what it has to do with. If the site owner/Admins wanted us to know what's going on, they'd have told us by now.

For now would it be possible to just use the cdlstatus comments section to post rapidshare/mediafire/whatever links when new albums come out?  It kinda started happening a couple weeks ago when CDL was down for a few days.  I feel like most of the albums on CDL wouldn't be too difficult to find on other download or torrent sites, with the exception of some really old or rare stuff, but many of us just use this site to find new music either before or as soon as it comes out.  I know between now and December TONS of new music is coming out.  It's 5am where I am, so to summarize if I'm not explaining clearly enough, if you're looking for old dc Talk music after CDL shuts down, you can search around and probably find it without too much effort, but if you're looking for the new Switchfoot or Phil Wickham or Casting Crowns, I think a lot of us would appreciate the occasional update from whoever gets them first with some download links on cdlstatus.  Just a thought.  And to all the admins and everyone else at CDL, it's been an awesome ride.  I check this site daily for new music and I will really miss it.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
