A Strange Language

I’m just now learning
To speak your strange language
Of verse
Traverse across these foreign angles and lines
You never dared to sail across that sea
You wrists forever dared to bleed
I showed you the bandages
But you refused
Gasp for air as these words toss and pitch
Can’t see through the spray and foam of this agony
Touch down on what you thought was might come to be
I run out of words so easily

Somehow you see right through me
As I speak this foreign language
Wait for your words, As I copy them
For my own use
But you understand how much I need them
Hear the sigh in my voice when I speak them
And I don’t seem to know you like I thought I did
Poor creatures speak
I never thought you loved them like I did
Poor creatures stand
 I saw the love in your hollow eyes the day you saw her
Poor creatures
Poor creatures
And my heart screams every chance I get

Wordless sentences
Soundless screams
Painless anguish
In-betweens
This paradox baffles me, my love, my love
Explain to me this symphony, my love, my love
I don’t quite understand what I hold in my hand
So show me how to love, my love, my dear

You sing quietly
While I weave a story
In this ancient forestry conceived of worried weeping
Show them how to dance
Teach them how to sing
Watch them run around
Trace the softly dissipating smoke rings
Love is fleeting
Pain is keeping
Dreams are waking
Hands are shaking
Form my own words
This strange language
You never understood
As did I

Weave a story
Write a melody
Softly keeping
While he’s weeping
Holding close all I hoped to posses one day
Write a story
Sing a melody
Softly showing
Love is growing
Keep me crying till my love has come to stay

I hear you in my head
Every day
Your words don’t fit my tune
I just can’t rhyme
When you scream inside
So I ignore you till  I go outside to play

Sing to me
Weeping softly
Gently breaking
Heart is weak
Gently sleep
Angel’s breathing
Sing to me
Of a world
We can love in
Kiss me sweet
Show me sleep
I can’t hold you

Wow, this poem is rich in emotion that I cannot fathom. There seems to be pain, sorrow and reason. A relationship without boundaries that only you could understand. Thanks for sharing from your heart..
