There will be a site-wide prune of members and threads this Wednesday, the 25 of March.
The cut-off is members who have less than 5 posts and have been part of CDL for 3 years. If you are still active but don't post, for whatever reason, and as a result have less than 5 posts please PM an Admin or Moderator.
As for threads, threads that have been inactive for more than 90 days (i.e no one has posted in them) will be considered stale and removed. EXCEPT for the Christianity boards.
EDIT: You only need to worry about having less than 5 posts if you've been a member for more than 3 years.

I’ve got some older threads with downloads that I am sure are still being downloaded from time to time (rapidshare premium - I see the download numbers) but don’t necessarily have coments in them. Is it okay for me to "bump" my threads (write a comment) in order to save them from deletion?

i'd say this is not such a good idea ... same thing as "keytars_forever". There are lots of posts where people just download without a comment, and that would be not such a good idea to delete good posts with good music... i think

Pruning is good. Thankfully, none of my posted items will be past the ninety days, so no need to bump. Thanks for keeping the site running well!

I think the member pruning can be something like 2 years with less then 5 posts but the post shouldn't b pruned so soon. Maybe at least 6 months with no activity. For me personally the best post are those old post I didn't hear anything about.

i'd say this is not such a good idea ... same thing as "keytars_forever". There are lots of posts where people just download without a comment, and that would be not such a good idea to delete good posts with good music... i think Date registered: November 2006 noooooo please there are too many threads that I need to check cause I want to download some music pls I ask you to not delete the threads until the next week Date registered: February 2007 All this time, and you haven't had enough time to look through the threads? Maybe people who download without posting could consider becoming a bit more of a contributor to this online community, and I mean beyond simply posting to say thanks for the downloads. What can I say, as in the spiritual, so in the natural, pruning is a great thing. It is sometimes painful but is always beneficial so prune away. Keep up the good work. GBY

All this time, and you haven't had enough time to look through the threads? Maybe people who download without posting could consider becoming a bit more of a contributor to this online community, and I mean beyond simply posting to say thanks for the downloads.
If you checked on Christian Sonic lately (the blog i and some others run and have lot of staff taken from this beautiful community) you may have seen a PayPal Donate button we just added. First 10$ to be donated will go straight to Christiandl PayPal chest. Hope those 3000 Unique and 8000 PageViewers of a Christian Sonic day will make a difference. It's all Christiandl Credit after all. Sry for off-topic. Be Blessed.

I was kind of surprised to see this thread. I understand it's need, and I fall in the category of pruning. Not because I don't like it here or appreciate it's efforts. I most certainly do. In fact it is here that I have been able to sample things, not found elsewhere.
I pray that I do not make the "cut", and perhaps this was a needed wake up call for me to be more active. In fact, I didn't realize until today that I had even been a member that long.
I only have 6 hours log in time total. I know to some that may not be anything, but to me it is the world. Resources are hard to come by, and christian fellowship even harder.
I hope that I will continue to be a part of things here to come, and if I am not, will there be a way to reenter at some point?
Thanks for letting me ramble.
God Bless you!

More power to what you're running over there - it's all really besides the point as pertains to CDL. But nice touch adding the donate to CDL button at the last minute. That's what it took to drive you to become more involved here after setting up your own website on the side, admittedly drawing from this very community? Are you lifting links from CDL as well? I was kind of surprised to see this thread. I understand it's need, and I fall in the category of pruning. Not because I don't like it here or appreciate it's efforts. I most certainly do. There is no rule to say that you can't sign up again after you've been pruned, this is to remove /inactive/ members, so I suspect many won't re-join. If you do happen to be pruned you can register again, you will have just lost those posts.

So simply give a signal like sonofchrist did and you will get spared, right?

Make some posts. I mean, seriously - we're just talking about having more than 5 posts here. And hopefully people don't just go on a run of one-word/one-sentence posts.

If you do get removed and are active, it would only be because you had less than 5 posts (and have bene a member for longer than 3 years). Re-registering and getting that post count again is a trivial matter.
