This has come up every now and then, and so I want to make this clear:
It is against Christian Torrents rules to give invites out publicly. If a CT member is found to give an invite publicly, he/she risks getting banned. Asking for invites here is fruitless.
CT has, on several occasions, opened up for public registration in the past, though there is no guarantee they will do it again.
That is all.

I don't think you understand, or have read the original post. You (very likely) WILL NOT get any invitations to CT from anyone at CDL. Their rules simply forbid doing so.

CT is a very closed community, the only way you can ever get in is if a member invites you (which is highly unlikely since you aren't allowed to ask anywhere for them, so unless you know someone in CT already with one of the extremely limited invites, you're stuck), or, as mentioned above, they decide to freely accept members again, (which is also unlikely since there are a large amount of members already on CT). I myself wouldn't bother with it, I used to be a member of CT (before I was removed for being inactive) and I know that CDL is far better. There are too many rules and regulations on CT, you have to keep a balanced ratio of downloads and uploads, and there doesn't seem to be as much variety and amount of music compared to CDL. And if you can't find something you want on CDL you can always ask in the request section for it. Usually you'll find someone who will upload it for you.

That is just simply stupid. Just an opinion. Torrents are meant for sharing... unless there are legal things involved...lol

It's not exactly stupid. It (a closed community with periodical open registrations) allows CT to be a more safer and controlled environment, and especially with torrents, where you have leechers and seeders. If people are going to be signing up and just leeching everything and not seeding, it defeats the whole purpose. It's also due to the websites limited resources, due to the large amount of members. But yeah they do go a bit overboard with their rules and regulations.

Logically.. when a torrent is created..and is seeded.. that is sharing. When a leecher is attracted to what is seeded, then dl'ing is natural. Now.. leeching is good only when the leecher uploads and shares what he dl'd.. at least the same amount... more preferably. I don't like leechers when they don't share what they dl'd... but now this is besides the point. Just wanted to say it. I won't get into how I have a problem with this thread specifically... but I'm thankful that we can all leech and share even without torrent files.

I don't think so. On public trackers as soon as you connect to the swarm (the seeders and leechers) you can see everyone's IP who's uploading and downloading. The reason they're so strict on access is because they don't want people from the RIAA, MPAA, etc etc grabbing their member's IP's. Here's it's a lot different. Most of the links are rapidshare or mediafire who (to the best of my knowledge) don't log IP's and aren't based in the U.S. (therefore aren't subject to copyright laws and can host whatever they want). That's why the better trackers progressively get more and more private, to protect their user's identity. As far as the public inviting, they just don't want their members to give out invites to people they don't know, like random people who request invites. No one knows who they are, and therefore jeopardize the security of the site and it's users. And on a side note, I have yet to find anything on CDL that's not on CT, and vice versa (some times...) Every now and again I come across something on CT that's not on CDL.

Er, I have. I know for a fact that there is almost nothing from the entire Christian Hip-Hop/Rap board I have ever found on CT, and believe me, I've looked. That's from before and after the crashes. So that alone is several hundred albums. I've also noticed a lot of albums from other boards as well that aren't on CT. And besides all that, because CDL isn't as restrictive and is more user-friendly (even though I agree on the points you made before about that being necessary) many times albums and releases will appear on CDL first. Often times i've seen releases uploaded within a few hours of the release.

That's true. There's not a lot of hiphop/rap on CT, but it's getting better. When I first joined it was all Gaither and Hillsong, but it's become a lot more dirverse. I just picked up the new Ambassador and Frontlynaz albums about two days before they were released, and appeared on here.

Well it's good you got the new Ambassador album days before release, but what Frontlynaz album are you talking about? Game Over has been out for several months now...

ahem... i have been checking up on the site for the past two whole years now.. i was inactive for about a year... but now that i've resumed, i still keep checking up if they've opened... i'm quite jittery about asking an invite publicly bcoz 1) i'm a perfect stranger 2) i wouldnt want another person to suffer if something goes wrong from my side, once i get in there. anyways. after reading this post, i now know that there is not much of a difference between CDL and CT. so i'm happy to stick to my old hunting ground again!
