oh i have seen the big German play defense, and he's not that bad... of course he's never going to be Tim Duncan, but i stay with his all around offense moves and game... that's enough for me and the little defense he has

It wouldn't be enough for me if I were a Mavs fan. They aren't going to win any titles unless he and his teammates play some defense.

well in fact the Mavs are one of the best defenders teams in the league, Avery Johnson always tkaes care of that aspect of the game.. it's just we could outscored our oppnents too, sure, not like the suns but the Mavs have a very balanced team.. not because of nothing they're been one of the top five teams in the last 4-5 years

They are a decent defensive team but not great. Currently, they are 10th in the league in points allowed. Still, they just don't a player that has the "killer instinct" to step up and do something special in the playoffs. Dirk Nowitzki is a great player but he's a terrible leader. He whines and complains when things go bad instead of picking up his teammates on the court.

well that's a so-so true.... Dirk is often critized cause of the Miami finals and that upset vs golden state, but he's not such a terrible leader neither... i mean, he's own teammates say it, and who else could take care of leadership on the team? howerever; i hope this year is the year we're champs, but i honestly doubt so, i thin k this yeear is going to be either Detroit or Boston, with S.A. Spurs going to the finals again.. that's my feeling

It's all about the heart. The Spurs swept the Cavs last year because LeBron saw Duncan and thought to himself that he is inferior to TD.
Boston still needs time. I would compare them to the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. They have the right pieces. They'll have a much easier road being in the East just like Dallas having a much easier road than let's say the Patriots.
Yeah Boston would kill Portland in a 7 game series. KG alone would feast on those young, talented guys.
Dirk? Dirk is a joke. Dirk No-win-ski? He's the guy who said if we lose Game 4 against GSW, the season is over. Telling that to his teammates? How do you go from almost 70 wins to being KO'ed in the 1st round? The European ballers are good, but they just play the shooting game. If Ginobli didn't do that dumb foul in 2006, Miami would NOT have won against the Spurs. Dallas has talent, but no heart.
Dude apb7721, man I am feeling your posts.

I'm a big NBA fan as well, but I kinda like Dirk's game. When he's locked in he can't be stopped, but I think he gets frustrated when he has to play too much defense. I'm a Sacramento Kings fan. They have a young exiting basketball team. Don't win much games, but I've always been a Kings fan, so the wins are nice, but trough the good and the bad times

Martin is back and scoring like a madman once again. I think that GM Geoff Petrie will trade either Bibby or Artest during the season to get some young talent in return. The Kings could be a playoff team in 2 or 3 years.

Yeah, I think Geoff Petrie is gonna trade Bibby and/or Artest. I would'nt mind giving up Artest, but Bibby kinda is the heart and sole of the Kings. We will see. They won the game against the Pistons last night I think they could live without Bibby more than they could without Artest. They haven't seemed to be missing Bibby too much this season, and Bibby has a high contract which is definite trade fodder.

For anyone that might be doubting the Celtics, they were without Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins today and still beat the San Antonio Spurs. That improves the Celtics to 39-9 and 16-0 against the Western Conference. This team is legit, the bench is showing up big time, and just wait until Kevin Garnett comes back from his abdominal strain injury.

lol that's so lame I'm looking for a SUNS ALL THE WAY comment and the only one I see is..."suns. lame."
Celtics were killed by the Suns. I'll give it to them with the best record but come on... the big three looked like crap when they played, they need to stay consistent
Dallas Mavs' Dirk Nowitzki cannot carry the team. He just can't. Playoffs last year proved that, I mean the Warriors didn't even have a chance and how can you toss that away? They need a new formula to continue in the second half of the season. Which of course is Jason Kidd. Interesting, but we'll see
Suns with Shaq? Def interesting but it puts Armari S. in such a good spot to play not only defense but power forward most of all. Which is a killer combo with Nash. Who was of course stripped of the MVP last year. Grant Hill is killing it on the courts. I'm rooting for the suns. I'm praying for them too, unselfishly, so they'll win lol lol.

The Celtics were not killed by the Suns. The Suns SHOULD have won that game by 30 points but they continuously committed turnovers and were the benefactors of the Celtics missing so many key shots. Winning by 10 points is not "killing" a team. When a team commits just as many errors as their opponent and lets them stay in the game time after time, that is hardly domination. The Suns showed why they'll never win a title: Inconsistency, lack of defense aside from Shaq and Amare (who is becoming a star flopper in the vein of Vlade Divac), and the reliance on 3 point shooting. They'll get bounced in the 2nd round again this year.

Just proves that you can't run and gun your way to the finals. . . unless you have Magic Johnson Ginobli's been on a tear. Crazy performances.

What a great game tonight with spurs and mavs. being a spurs fan of course I enjoyed it more duhih you are right ginobli has been playin crazy lately. as soon as parker gets back in the groove I am thinking the spurs can get back and stay in the top 3 of the seeding. i heard tonight that Brent Barry turned down dallas and phoenix and is gonna wait the 30 days and come back to SA I am glad I am hoping kurt thomas will be a great pickup but I am glad barry is coming back. I am saddened to hear about Yao Ming though. even though they are rivals I dont like to see a player go down like that. Who do you all think is the hottest team right now between the Rockets and the Lakers? I would love to see that as a first round playoff series I am looking forward to the east playoffs too, I think cavs with the way james is playing and there new additions are gonna be dangerous especially since they have beaten detroit and have the confidence in a playoff series. looking forward to seeing how boston looks in the big games, that big baby guy killed us when we played them up there. Looking great in the nba playoff race, I got the fever God Bless you all

I think either San Antonio or the Lakers will come out of the west and either Boston or Detroit will come out of the East. I don't think Cleveland got better with the trades they made. The final score may have only been a 5 point margin but Boston was blowing them out by 15 throughout the game.
