Clash of the titans. Brutally cheesey and a huge letdown for me.
Really? I heard it was good. I still want to see it See it if you want to waste your money and time. It was a huge letdown for me also. Very cheesy, heaps of major plot holes and incoherency every 5 minutes. Most of the costumes and sets were horrible in design and low quality (with the exception of the kracken monster). If that's not enough, the acting is utter crap. There is literally no redeeming qualities to this film. I found myself entering the cinema with anticipation of something amazing and looking to see what Sam Worthington would bring this time. About 10 minutes later I was shifting in my seat, slapping my forehead, exclaiming to my friends who were equally gobsmacked, etc. It got to the point where it was mildly amusing that it failed so badly scene after scene. Probably the least deserving film of the title "America's number one movie" ever in history.

Clash Of The Titans
I don't know why everyone is talking bad about this movie, I found it to be quite good....very entertaining.
When i was at Church this morning there was a lot of differing opinions about this. Kinda seems like black licorice, you either hate it or really love it.

And equally, I don't know why a lot of people talk good about this movie. Maybe a lot of people wanted a cheesy action flick?

Probably the least deserving film of the title "America's number one movie" ever in history. Agreed, the acting was very bad and it definitely did not deserve all of the promos it got. All of the epic commercials and posters everywhere I expected at least a half good movie, but I didn't get one.

****CLASH OF THE TITANS SPOILERS BELOW. BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THE FILM ANYWAY, SO TRUST ME. JUST READ ON*****Can you elaborate on what you find "cheesy" about it and what about it exactly would cause you to say... The lines of dialogue were cheesy. Hades' stupid wheezing. The effects were cheesy. The story itself was cheesy. It was just one gigantic ball of cheese. You say the acting was bad....How so? It was cheesy. And everyone had a bland character. There was the two comedic relief guys who didn't actually bring any comedic relief but just ran about saying stupid lines and feeding further incoherency and plot holes into the story. The leader of the Spartan army was horribly acted. He was just too cliche in his tone as was just about every other actor in the film. Sam Worthington was his usual "emotionless grunt" self (which sometimes works). Just everyone was bad. Plot holes every 5 minutes? I don't think so. Yeh. Plot holes, incoherency, and just plain bad story structure. It's like Star Wars Episode 1 all over again. - There's Perseus refusal to use the sword given to him by Zeus despite the enormous consequences of danger and loss of his men's lives. Why would you not use the powers of a god to defeat the gods?? - There is the scene where Hades announces to everyone that Perseus is a demigod even though his grand plan is to destroy mankind through the Kraken monster which incidentally only Perseus can defeat. Contradictory. - The action sequences which have no relation to each other. - The Jinn seem to server no other purpose than to act as a middle eastern racial stereotype. - The cheap love subplot between Perseus and Io that was randomly slapped on towards the end of the film in the boat where she trains him to fight Medusa. Which in itself makes no sense because there is no way for Io to have known how to combat Medusa when she herself tells Perseus that no woman is allowed inside Medusa?s temple and no man has ever been inside and lived? There is no way anyone can know how to defeat Medusa at all! Throw in some sexual attraction at the end of the sequence and there you go! - There's that scene towards the end where Zeus tells all the other gods to leave the room so he can talk with Hades. But he then proceeds to tell Hades what all the other gods expected and were waiting for him to say anyway and tells him to unleash the Kraken... - And what about the deal with sacrificing the princess before the deadline. What if they actually did sacrifice her? Hades plan would have been useless. - Why did Hades choose to send something that was killable like the Kraken instead of something that wasn't like a natural disaster? A flood or fire or something? - Then there is the absolutely hilarious ending where Zeus brings back Io from the dead as a reward to Perseus. However Io's dream was to become mortal and finally die. So in resurrecting Io he rewards Perseus and punishes Io in bringing her back into her eternal anguish. Great job Zeus. If I listed everything I'd be here way too long, but you get the point. Low quality costumes and sets? Were we even watching the same movie? Yep. That's what they looked like to me. And most of the CGI and special effects were again cheesy, and just poorly done. I know a few people who both disagree and agree with me so I guess its just a matter of how close you were looking and how much you cared at the time.

This is a well thought out post and actually you make some good points I suppose. I guess I just don't pay attention to all the little details when I watch movies, I just sit back and take it in without really analyzing and scrutinizing it.
Well, you did ask for me to show you. To me they were pretty glaring flaws and it didn't take any scrutinizing. Even the actual theme of the story makes no sense. As I said, I saw it with friends and they could all notice major issues with the plot and frowned at the bad acting and illogical happenings. I literally couldn't sit straight throughout the duration of the film, it was really uncomfortable for me to watch.

Seventeen Again (with my gf)
It was ok. Seems like the plot has been done a million times.
Taken
Saw it before, but my gf wanted to watch this too. Pretty much any movie with Liam Neeson is awesome.

Beneath Hill 60
A great Australian film based on the largely unknown story of the 1st Australian Tunnelers who were tasked with digging tunnels as deep as 90 meters underground and behind enemy lines in order to attack the enemy from underneath their feet. The film really makes you feel like you're in there with the tunnelers. It provides the incredible sense of claustrophobia and suspense you would expect, having to deal with potential cave ins, lack of oxygen, dangerous gasses, and counter nazi tunnelers. I found myself heavily emotionally invested in each and every character. They were each unique and charming in their own ways.

Iron Man 2. Enjoyed it thoroughly and was much better than the first. Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to due to randomly having a "anxiety" attack mid way through (fast heartrate, trouble breathing, numbness, coldness, sweat, was horrible), which caused me to be extremely uncomfortable throughout the remainder of the film.
Definitely gonna get the blu-ray.
