3 days ago I watched Marley and Me... that was rough for me
We just put a cat to sleep last Friday. He had been my wife's best friend for more than 13 years. As it is, we had been putting off watching that one since about 4 years ago, she had to put a cat also named Marley to sleep. I'm guessing there's no chance in heck we'll be watching it anytime soon now.

The Book of Eli.Anybody see this movie ? Great movie, I really loved the postapocalyptic future vision (or what), and the filming is brilliant too. And Denzel & Gray Oldman are so great, and the whole movie was so exciting. Alone I not liked the girl, 'cause, don't understand why is needed an immaculate faced and bodyied girl into every movie. Anyway ... I think 10/7.5 ... this is only my opinion.

So, what a night! Shutter Island was good. But not as good as I had hoped. The story was well constructed, it was nicely filmed and had some good shock moments. But overall I was not really drawn in. Leonardo Di Caprio's performance was good and likeable enough, but somehow I failed to identify with him. So the revelation was not really a shock - not an explosion but an implosion. But not like a disastrous hydrogen bomb, more like an origami that folded and everything fell into place and made sence. Maybe I didn't get it, but I felt that the end was quite boring and took away any suspense. I suspect that seeing it for the second time will be a bit like with The Sixth Sense: interesting in the way a puzzle is, but without real thrill. The Book Of Eli was great. I was surprised at how christian it is, but without being cheesy. I will buy it when it gets out. I loved almost everything about it! Denzel was good, Mila Kunis is no oscar contender, but she was convincing and not as out of place as she could have been. Gary Oldman was a little disappontment, I had hoped for more evilness there. I liked Tom Waits more than him. The photography is awesome, although I could have done with a little more color, just for realism. The soundrack was great, I enjoyed that a lot. The story was for the most part straightforward, but not boring. Very good message too! The amount of action was appropriate and served the story well. I might watch Shutter Island gain on DVD, just to see what it's like the second time. Book of Eli is listed for purchase.

Shutter Island.
Scary, and sick film. But it's not bad at all. When I see the movie, in the meantime, listening to Mia Fieldes CD, and shut off the volume from the film...so is not so scary =) ...Anyway, K-PAX is better than this but this is just my opinion.
